Reporting To Police

Emergency:

If you or someone else is not safe right now, or the person who harmed you is nearby, call 111 immediately. This is for emergencies where there is danger or urgent medical help is needed.

Non-Emergency:

If it is not an immediate emergency, you can still contact Police by calling 105, even if the harm happened days, months, or years ago.

You can also report online through the New Zealand Police website for non-urgent matters or go in person to your local Police station.

Medical Care and Examinations

If you have been hurt, or are worried about injury, infection, or pregnancy, you can receive free and confidential medical care.

You do not have to report to Police to get medical help.

Medical care can include:

  • Checking and treating injuries
  • Testing for infections
  • Pregnancy support and options
  • A specialist medical examination (if you choose)
  • Care that is respectful, gentle, and private

Still unsure about what to do?
